I have been recording various events in my campus, and idea struck me! What about creating a one man magazine?
College is truly a wonderful experience, but school work has been bogging down my blogging time recently, so I have not been able to update this website in a while. However, I have been sort of becoming a journalist recently as I took my digital camera and my voice recorder to take a snapshot of various events that were happening on my campus. Jim Lehrer of the News Hour on PBS came to my campus couple of days ago, and I took the opportunity to take some photos and even ask a direct question to one of the most admired and objective news anchor in the modern age. Yesterday I attended a lecture by a Washington Post reporter who has done a lot of interviews with Iraq War veterans and gained a huge insight on the psychological problems that many of our returned war heroes face today. So with all these journalistic observations, I am slowly gathering unique contents throughout the week. I could publish news stories or personal reflections based on these events and post them online, but an idea popped up. What about creating a one man magazine? I am not talking about another online magazine but an actual palpable magazine distributed throughout campus on print. There are formidable barriers into this venture, including the cost of printing the magazine. However, I think it would be an interesting experience for trying out this venture at a small scale. The magazine would focus on various topics, but I think I’m going to keep an open mind on specifics details later. I have been thinking about this idea for awhile, and there is a huge possibility that this idea would not materialize. But if I put enough effort into this project, then I think that I would be able to get some ideas and experience to either decide to go forward or stop this project. I have materials to write, and I just need some kind of a foundation to work with. I’m searching with Google, Ask.com, various blogs, and other sources to get more information on setting up a magazine. I have no idea on the timeframe of this possible project, but I will post more information regarding this new venture. Let’s see if I can juggle this idea with the rest of my school work….

Announcements
I do a lot of reading for school and for personal enjoyment. In the coming weeks, I will feature some of the books that I am currently reading as I concentrate on writing less "Internet-related" topics. |
