I am surprised by the calm tone on the side of the pilot of Flight 1549 and the air traffic controller in the radio exchanges right after the bird strike. Everyone was calm in trying to resolve the critical situation, and the air traffic controller’s quick contact with other surrounding airports truly show what an extraordinary people they are in terms of managing a life and death crisis.
If you are a college student, then how awesome would it be to have the President of your university stay with you for a couple of days? In Rochester Institute of Technology, 30 school administrators, including the President, are taking part of the Real RIT Dorm Challenge by living, socializing, and eating with undergraduate students for two nights and three days. As they continue to work on their jobs, the participating administrators will have to use student-assigned parking lots, which are farther away than the administrator’s space, and enjoy the crowded atmosphere in dorm areas.
This event, which is reported by the Democrat and Chronicles, is awesome. It really closes somewhat of the divide between students and administrators and potentially brings much needed change to student needs. I wish my school would do this, because I don’t appreciate our laundry room.
